Peking Opera

Peking Opera is hailed as the quintessence of Chinese culture, with a history of over 200 years. The gorgeous costumes, fair-sounding singing and amazing facial masks never fail to impress foreign tourists. Many famous traditional theatrical pieces are showed at several theaters in Beijing with English subtitles or plot summaries. Liyuan Theater inside the Qianmen Hotel is a favorite for overseas tourists, which offers splendid performance at 07:30 pm every night.

Acrobatics, a pearl in the treasure house of the traditional Chinese performing art, has a history of over 2,000 years in China. Currently it enjoys great popularity both at home and abroad. The stunning acrobatic shows at Chaoyang Theater (No.36, North 3rd East Ring Road) are highly recommended.

Chinese Kung-Fu Show
Kung Fu, also known as Martial Arts or Wushu, is a fabulous Chinese cultural product with a history of thousands years. It is well known all over the world. Each day, travelers can enjoy the world renowned Chinese Kung-Fu Show at the Red Theatre in Beijing. Surely, they will be captivated by its superb. The Red Theater is located at No.44, Xingfu Street, Worker’ Art Palace, Chongwen District, Beijing.

Beijing’s teahouses have long enjoyed a good reputation, which integrate the drinking and dinning with the entertainment and social communication. Here people can experience the authentic Beijing folk culture.

Laoshe Tea House was named after a renowned writer, Laoshe and his drama, firstly built in 1988. With elegant decoration and unsophisticated style, it offers wonderful shows and performances every day, such as Peking Opera, Chinese acrobatics, etc.

Beijing Bar and Club Areas
If you don't know where to go at the beginning and you just want to go to a few bars or lounges then go to Sanlitun Bar Street where numerous bars, nightclubs and jazz and rock concerts can be found. Sanlitun enjoys popularity among travelers and expats. Besides, party animals and bar-goers can also go to the Houhai Bar Street and Luoquxiang Bar Street.
